My wife, our five children and I live on a farm. On two separate days, our children came home from school to discover that someone had killed a family pet and some livestock. I called Protection One and asked how quickly they could install a security system for our home. They were very responsive, and told us about eSecure. eSecure Helps Avert Disaster
We have just come back home to Rhode Island from our house in Maine. The alarm system that Protection One installed in the Maine house last summer has now paid for itself because of the potential damage it prevented.
Our temperature alarm at the house in Maine went off at 2:00 AM Sunday morning. I was able to access the panel at the Maine house from our home in Rhode Island to turn the alarm off. Also, the panel showed me that the electricity was still on in the house, so we knew that the furnace had shut off for some other reason.
So we left Rhode Island immediately for Maine. The temperature was three-below-zero outside when we arrived, and it was 42 degrees in the house. As it turns out, there was so much snow that it had blocked the air intake and exhaust for our furnace vent. I cleared the snow away, and everything is now fine. eSecure and the Internet connection to the alarm system worked great.
We also feel that our house is much more secure with the wireless connection than it would have been with a phone-line connection. With this system, if a tree comes down and takes down the electrical and phone wires, our house is still monitored and protected.

Customer Accesses Florida Security System From Europe
Our property management company maintains a Florida vacation home for a customer whose main home is in Norway. We use eSecure services to manage the Protection One alarm system in Florida to allow maids, guests and renters to enter the property. We manage codes by adding and deleting them remotely, saving us the trouble of driving to the property to allow access to individuals. The owner can also access his Florida home by using his laptop in Norway, which allows him to feel very secure about his home from far away.
